Nagari Abhivadan Nyas~forum of 45 organizations from Dombivli has chosen Urja Foundation for felicitation on 2nd Feb 2020 for its examplarary work of environment protection by organizing 29 plastics collection drives in last 3 years where you have collected about 70 tonnes of plastics and sent it to Pune at your cost for converting into fuel.Your members who are mostly working women have been putting lot of physical efforts also in packing and loading in tempo two tonnes of plastic every 40 days.
Success of your activity is seen when other organisations try to emulate you but unfortunately they give up soon.
Your other activities i.e.creating emvironment awareness and helping about 800 students every year with books and other aids are also remarkable.While campaigning for use of cloth bags you have been providing livelihood to many women who stitch bags which are sold by you in exhibitions.

Urjaa Foundation has been instrumental in transforming the mindset of the citizens of this country and abroad. Urjaa Foundation has quite a number of fans out of India as well. Whereas abroad, its more driven by regulation, Urjaa Foundation has ensured that their work is accepted and absorbed as a way of life by choice and not be fear or regulation.
From educating the masses about the dangers of plastic littering to the mankind, now and in the future and providing a solution by collecting the same for transforming it into poly-fuel is just one of its popular programs; to empowering women to stand on their own feet by helping them start businesses like making cloth bags and selling them to earn a living ; to paying school fees of underprivileged students; to providing students with lectures on various school subjects as well as providing them with school textbooks and note books.
People have been so delighted with this approach that, some of them travel more than 50 kms at their own costs to participate and support in activities which sometimes are on a Sunday morning, come rain or shine.
If anybody need to be explained the term “Walk the Talk” there would not be undoubtedly a more specific example than the work and activities of Urjaa Foundation.

January 2016. After we shifted to a new home (Kalyan), we decided one thing (say new year resolution) that we will not put any kind of plastic waste generated in the house to the usual trash. We started storing it separately irrespective of the solution. Later, next year, in january 2017, we were happy to learn about 'Urjaa' and it's plastic waste collection drive in dombivli. We submitted our year long collected plastic waste at drive which eventually was sent for scientific recycling through 'Urjaa'. Since then we have been connected to each other. 'Urjaa' is actively working in various fields such as environment, education and financial literacy. Kudos to all Urjaa members for their tremendous dedication towards social responsibility. We always say that 'Urjaa' gives us Urjaa to work hard!

सेवावृत्तीने कार्य करणाऱ्या शहरातील काही महिलांनी एकत्रित येऊन सुमारे ५ वर्षांपूर्वी स्थापन झालेली सामाजिक संस्था म्हणजे 'ऊर्जा फाउंडेशन' !!!
संसाराच्या धकाधकीत घडाळ्याचे काटे पाडून जीवन जगणाऱ्या चाकरमानी महिलांनी प्रसिद्धीच्या झोतात न राहता समाजापोटी असलेले आपले दायित्व ओळखून स्वयंस्फूर्तीने समाजोपयोगी कार्याचा केलेला प्रारंभ म्हणजे समाजास मिळालेली आदर्शव्रत व अनुकरणीय बाब.
स्थापनेपासूनच प्लास्टिक प्रदूषण व याबाबत नागरिकांसाठी केवळ जनजागृती करता शहारातील टाकाऊ प्लास्टिक दरमहा गोळा करून तो इंधन निर्मितीसाठी जुन्नर येथे पाठविण्याची किमया त्यांनी केली. परिणामी गेल्या प्लास्टिक संकलनाचे वेळी सुमारे ३३ टन प्लास्टिक एकत्रित करून शहर प्लास्टिकमुक्त करण्यासाठी प्रारंभ यांनी केला ही अभिमानास्पद बाब आहे.
महिलांसाठी विविध व्याख्याने चर्चासत्रे आयोजन करणे आदिवासी तसेच खेड्यापाड्यातील गरजू विद्यार्थ्याना शालेय वस्तूंचे वाटप शहरातील विद्यार्थ्यांना आर्थिक मदत ही आपली विविध कार्य आपण जोमाने करीत आहोत. नागरी अभिवादन न्यासातर्फे शहरातील कार्यक्रमातही आपला सक्रीय सहभाग असतो.
संस्थेचे यशस्वीपणे कार्य करण्यासाठी आवश्यक असलेला निधी उत्तम प्रकारे संकलित करत आहात.सेवाभावी वृत्तीने कार्य करणाऱ्या आपल्या सर्व महिलावर्गाचे मनपूर्वक अभिनंदन व संस्थेचा उज्वल भवितव्यासाठी हार्दिक शुभेच्छा !!!

पर्यावरण रक्षणासाठी नोकरी करणाऱ्या काही महिलांनी एकत्र येऊन ' ऊर्जा ' ही संस्था स्थापन केली. ' माझा प्लास्टिक कचरा ही माझी जबाबदारी ' या संकल्पनेतून त्यांनी प्लास्टिक कलेक्शन चालू केले .व त्याचे पर्यावरणपूरक इंधनात रूपांतर करण्यासाठी ते पुण्यापर्यंत पाठवण्याची जबाबदारी स्वीकारली. हा उपक्रम गेली 3 वर्षे त्या सातत्याने आणि अत्यंत मेहनतीने करत आहेत हे खरंच कौतुकास्पद आहे.

My association with Urjaa Foundation goes back to their first attempt when they decided to act on plastic waste menace in Thane and Dombivali. From there on they have never looked back be it educational support to needy, environment care, empowering women to name a few. Sometimes I really wonder from where they gather this "Urjaa" cause mostly all of them are working women who have to strike a balance between home and work and still devote time to Urjaa activities. Hats off to them for their energies. I will always support Urjaa activities in whatever way possible. My best of the wishes to Urjaa Foundation in all their future endeavours
